Prefect on the first attemptThis stuff is wonderful. Perfect images on my first try. I'm doing delicate wedding images and they are peeling off the mat beautifully. It doesn't taste bad either, and it won't affect the flavor of the cookies I'm using it on. I can see already that I'm about to become a sugar dress fanatic. Make sure you watch the video by Chef Tetreault if you're new to Sugar Dress. If I hadn't watched that, I would have made a mess of things.5Worked the first time just perfectlyThis stuff worked great the first time because I watched the YouTube video on how to use it. It s definitely stronger to pull out of the mold if you do the process twice for each lace. I had no issues and it was beautiful. I was able to paint it with gold dust and vodka and it held up just fine. Have made 2 wedding cakes with this. I would highly recommend!5Fantastic Product!!This is one of the best and easiest products I have ever used! I am an experienced cake decorator but have never used any sort of cake lace. It was so easy to mix and super easy to apply, bake and remove from the mold I used. I'm so excited for the types of things I will be able to create!! I suggest watching a you tube video on how to apply and dry your lace, it really helped to know what I was doing. It was simple as could be to combine the powder and liquid to produce the lace material. Spread it in the mold. Be sure to put it in the oven, remove after correct time, apply second coat, put in again,let it cool. Watch the video to see the Chef removing the lace from the mold.5Surprised how easyThis was super easy to mix and use once I figured out the conversations. I was surprised how liquidy it was, how nicely it dried, and came out of the mold without drying stiff. I've never done this technique before, but I certainly look forward to using this again on another project. Couldn't be happier.5Easy to work with and has a beautiful resultThis is the first time I have used a product like this and I was very impressed with the results. I actually watched the instructional video on Global Sugar Art's website to help me get it right. I was able to get about 8 lace strips out of one recipe and have a ton of product left over to make more batches. I was able to tint it with no problems and it came out very nicely from the silicone mat (as long as you follow the instructions). I used the lace on a wedding cake (see attached picture) and put it right on the icing (not fondant). I would recommend that the icing is crusted and dry when you put it on as the lace gets sticky when it gets wet. I didn't have to use any water to attach the lace to the cake because by the time I was done getting it all lined up the icing had softened and sweat a bit. I used the normal recipe and found that the lace was flimsy enough to move around the cake but it was a challenge getting it on because it was so flimsy. I had my husband help me so it wouldn't tear. May try the stiffer recipe next time to see if that helps. I did tear a little part of one strip but was able to line it up perfectly on the cake so there was no waste. I absolutely love this product and I plan to use it in other ways besides lace. Would definitely recommend!5GREAT Cake Lace!I purchased this because I wanted to add lace and paint it gold to add to some candy apples and rice krispy treats for my niece's Indian themed birthday party. This cake lace did the job and the apples turned out beautiful. But it took forever to dry. I had to turn the oven up so that it would dry faster. And sometimes I had to apply it twice. But I will use it again. Next time I'll just prepare the cake lace days before the event.4Wonderful and Easy product to work withThis was my first experience using sugar dress. I was asked to create a cake with intricate edible lace, so I started researching different brands and techniques. I am so happy I decided to purchase the Sugar Dress. The product was consistent and so easy to work with! This is what I found worked for me, keep in mind I am at a high elevation, so you might need to adjust for your specific altitude.Heat oven to 175 Mix11 tsp water4 TBSP powderMix for 3 to 4 minutes (I just used a wire whisk)Mix in 1 tsp of the liquid included in the Sugar Dress kit into water and powder mixtureMix for an additional 2 to 3 minutesSpread evenly into silicone mold, then place in oven for 15 minutes.Remove from oven and reapply more of the liquid to fill in any gaps or shrinkage.Place in oven again for another 15 minutes.Remove from oven and let cool for 30 to 60 minutes.Carefully remove the finished Sugar dress from mold.It was so easy! When I applied the lace to my fondant cake, the fondant was fresh and a bit sticky, so the lace adhered perfectly without needing any royal icing to help it stay.I made 2 batches of the above recipe and it was enough to get 6 complete lace sections which was the perfect amount for a 12 and 9 inch cake.I am attaching photos of the entire process along with the finished product. I would highly recommend!5
