Great product but knee pad on this "small size" at highest setting is lower than advertised.Easy to assemble, smooth ride and easy to maneuver. Caution: Says the height of the knee pad goes up to 19" it is much lower than that-only 17.5" so ended up a bit too low for me (5'6"). Vendor not responding to my request to return/exchange for next size up.3Great productI broke my ankle and when they made me non sightseeing for 4 weeks. It shipped fast and was really easy to put together. It folds flat to fit anywhere!! I loved the blue color. Plus, it was nice to find the size for a short person like me. Others, are super tall. Its sturdy, build strong, and maneuvers really well. You don't feel like it might turn over. Your knee rests comfortable in a grooved padded foam. I also bought the fake sheepskin cover pad and bathroom shower boot. Great prices on all pieces. I would highly recommend this Scooter!! Sincerely, M G5Depends on what you are looking forAfter I found out how badly my ankle was broken, and knew I had to be completely non-weightbearing, I went straight to the medical supply store to rent a knee scooter. Big mistake. The scooter I got there was heavy, awkward and bulky (plus expensive), and impossible for me to get in and out of my car by myself while standing on one foot. Which made me sweaty, tired and crabby just getting in to work.So I started looking for a smaller, lighter scooter on line, and finally chose this one because, bottom line, I have to be able to get it in and out of the trunk of my car, into my house, into the office, etc, by myself. Also, as a PA, I do not have a desk job; I have to sit and stand and move around in the exam room multiple times with each patient, to wash my hands, examine the patient, sit at the computer, etc. All. Day. Long. So mobility is the #1 issue for me.This scooter is SO much better for me than the first one! After a full day on this one, I am tired. After a full day on the other one, I was EXHAUSTED. There have been some trade-offs, but overall, for me, this one is much more livable, and I am very glad I bought it.Pros:-Very narrow front axle, 13-14 , can maneuver better in tight spaces-Lightest one I found (18-19#)-Easier to pick up the front or back end to turn it-Folds up by releasing the handlebars and rotating them to tuck under the seat- quite compact.-Basket included (a must have)-Smaller turning radius, so fewer 7- or 9- point turns (kidding. or not.).Cons:-Front end is much more wobbly than the heavier one, which also had tie-rods for steering. It wobbles over my kitchen tiles and many other places. But I just pay attention, hold on tight, and move more slowly. I m managing just fine, but you do have to be careful.-Front end can tip forward a little if you lean on it without your knee on the rest or something in the basket. Again, if you are aware and intentional, it s not an issue; you just can t be careless.-Folding the handlebars down is a two-step process, and the 2nd step of sliding the bar to the side in its slot to release it is tricky. Especially on one leg. Putting it back up is easy.-The handlebars are so narrow that you might feel a little unstable. Once I got used to this, I wasn t bothered by it, but again- the stability thing.SO.If you want a lightweight knee scooter that is portable, foldable and easy to maneuver in tight spaces, this one is good, possibly the best on Amazon.If you need more stability, or want to zoom around quickly, I wouldn t recommend this one. Also, I m not sure how well it would work for someone at the higher end of this scooter s weight limit. I m 5 5 , 140#, and it s plenty sturdy for me, but I d have reservations about someone weighing 250#.Tips:-You can put the knee rest on in either direction; in one direction, it slanted quite a bit, and I was sliding off. In the other direction it is nearly horizontal, much better.-The knee rest is barely 17 from the floor, which was a bit short for me at 5 5 , but with the foam rubber pad on it, the height is fine. Pay attention to your knee height though!-The knee pad was pretty comfortable, better than the other. But I m still using a homemade foam rubber pad since I m on it a lot, and it really helps.Good luck! It s no fun needing one of these things, but at least we have options, not just crutches!4Easier to maneuver than full sizeI m short (5 4 ) and this scooter is quite a bit smaller than my other one making it far easier to maneuver in small spaces like a bathroom. The knee pad is hard, so I suggest getting a foam cover. The basket is truly handy when moving from one place to another.5Ok if you don t have to use for a long time , but if you do look for one with a better design.The knee pad is really hard and could use some better cushioning. I added memory foam padded layers to it. Not really easy to fold to transport ... better to use in one area and leave it there... which is what I did at the hospital where I work.It would be much better with a softer rubber tire as you feel every bump you go over and it tips easily . Do not use on a uneven side walk unless you want to break more bones when you fall off it.3
