Allergic reactionThe sweetener is made from ragweed, it can give an allergic reaction feel. Check this out online before purchasing.Otherwise if you aren t allergic, this really is a great whey protein. I went through 2 tubes before realizing it was the outdoors causing my allergies it was this product. 1Formula Changes not NaturalThe formula has changed. No longer isolate, instead a mix with mostly concentrate. Now sweetened with fructose, not Stevea. No longer subscribe and save with this product. 1YuckThe AdvantEdge Lean 15 Protein Powder I normally get was discontinued so I needed to find a new product. I have a scoop of powder every morning with oatmeal, honey and blueberries for breakfast. When I opened this, it smelled a little "off", but I figured it was just me being scared of change. But I don't think that was it. I don't know if it was the combination with my other breakfast ingredients, but it tasted pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty bad (to paraphrase Larry David). I tried to give it a chance, but once I realized that it tasted what I imagine baby spit-up tastes like, I had to throw in the towel. 1New Formula! Not as good as the old.I have been drinking the Rich Chocolate mix from Pure Protein for many years and they recently changed their formula. The previous formula I have been drinking daily for years I would give a 4 or 5 stars rating. The first batch of the new recipe I was sent I was convinced I had received an out of date stock from the back of the warehouse. Compared to what I was, use to it tasted old and like all the flavor had dried up. Gone was the creamy chocolatey taste. Today I received my second batch in a new modern taller, thinner canister and my fears were confirmed; it was not an old out of date stock it was a new radically different formula. It now is watery seemingly regardless of how much powder you add to your milk or almond milk. Gone is the chocolate taste. As one "reviewer" stated it's "not too sweet" umm yeah that's not exactly how I would describe it. It tastes closer to a coffee shake or baking chocolate than a chocolate shake That's not to say it's gross it is just a very different flavor non-thick and creamy, and less desirable formula. 2Not for using aloneI bought both vanilla and chocolate in this protein powder. No where on the packaging does it tell you to mix with 8oz or water/milk, etc. It doesn't seem to mix when added to 8oz of liquid. I personally use almond milk for my shakes. It doesn't thicken at all and is all clumpy. I use a shaker for my shakes and even after vigorous shaking its still clumpy and thin. If you're adding them to smoothies I can see them being useful but just for a shake, they are not up to par. 3Tastes RancidI just opened the protein powder, mixed it into water, and tried it moments ago. I am not exaggerating when I say that it is one of the worst things I have ever tasted in my entire life.It is extraordinarily bitter and tastes rancid like it went bad. I tasted a little bit 5 minutes ago and the horrible aftertaste is still in my mouth. If I honestly tried my very hardest, I could not finish a glass of this stuff.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I don't know if I got a bad batch or if all of it is this bad, but either way you should not risk tasting what I just tasted. 1LOVE THIS PRODUCT! If you're actually exercising you should have no fear of real sugar in any form. But you are doing unseen damage to you body with any artificial sweetener. And it will catch up to you. 5I HATE protein powderI HATE protein powder. The way it makes your smoothies taste chalky and changes the taste to something weird.So when I say 'I LOVE this protein powder", it means something.It does change the taste of whatever it's added to, but it gives it a cream-type taste instead of that awful chalky taste most powders add. So, if I add it to straight orange juice and ice, it tastes a bit like a creamsicle. Same way with other drinks. My typical smoothie of choice is banana, chunky peanut butter, ice, milk, and a scoop of Pure Protein powder. Delicious. 5The vanilla is my favorite flavor.
