A very well made batchI'm going from 0 taste 100% unsweetened cocoa to this batch which includes 20/22% cocoa butterThe cocoa butter makes a 200% difference xDThe aroma is very rich, the taste when mixed with a coffee beverage is very tasteful despite using 1/4th of a teaspoon.The spoon it comes with is better off:A) Keeping as a collectibleB) Using to measure for hot coco beveragesThe spoon is not cheaply made either it's real metal. Thinner than I thought, but still metal.Not disappointed at all. Well done Ghirardelli!!!5The bomb diggitty for baking!!!This is the best cocoa powder I have ever used! I tried many kinds and this just beats them all. The fine powder is different from most cocoa powder in texture and it shows in baking with it. It is more a dark cocoa, more of a Dutch process cocoa. You will be able to tell the difference first time you try it. The depth of flavor in the chocolate it intense!! I adore it! Being the poor ramen eatin' cliche', I often resorted to the cocoa+coffee mix to get my fix and dubbed it my "ghetto mochas."Fast forward to today: Doc told me to cut back on carbs. Milk has a surprising amount of carbs due to its natural sugar content. Give up my mochas!? NEVER!Ghetto mocha 2.0:8 oz coffee1 T unsweetened cocoa - THIS ONE2 T light cream (0 carbs)This rich cocoa + creamer gives the drink a nice, rich and satisfying round feel. Would it be better with sugar? Well, yeah. BUT this cocoa powder takes it to a whole new level! Mind you I had been drinking mochas with whole milk and just cocoa powder (not this one), and they were meh... not much enjoyment to them. So much better with this cocoa and creamer! Not sure they qualify as ghetto mochas anymore, but there it is.5Cocoa PowderI've always heard that a better quality of cocoa could make all the difference when you bake and now that to be true. It is much finer and darker than store bought cocoa. My family has always loved my chocolate cake, but when I used the Ghirardelli cocoa, they though I had a new recipe! This is a keeper and well worth the money.5Not Good for Hot Cocoa, Maybe Good for BakingI should have read the description of this product more carefully. I assumed it was a more intense version of Ghirardelli s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, which I love and use daily to make hot cocoa. Instead, this product is cocoa powder with cocoa butter blended back in (I think the cocoa powder and cocoa butter are two substances separated at some point in the processing of the cacao beans). So, to me at least, it has an unpleasantly greasy/fatty smell, flavor and texture that makes it completely unsuitable for drinking as hot cocoa (nor does it dissolve well into the non- or low-fat milk I use). This product might be good for baking, except when using it to replace cocoa powder in a recipe, I would greatly reduce or even eliminate any other fats, like butter, in the recipe. Or, it could be used perhaps where recipes call for melted unsweetened chocolate (chocolate has both cocoa powder and fat in it).Unfortunately for me, I ordered three of the big cans of this product. I have made it usable (but not enjoyable) for hot cocoa by mixing it 2:1 Ghirardelli s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder:this product, and also changing the 1% milk I normally use to non-fat.One thing I really liked about this product in the packaging: Ghirardelli s Unsweetened Cocoa Powder has packaging ( resealable 8-oz. packet) that I really hate. It s clumsy and difficult to handle, tends to flop over and spill out the contents, the contents puff out into the air and all over my kitchen, and the size is impracticably small for me. I love the large can that this new product comes in and I wish Ghiradelli would offer this size and type of packaging for their Unsweetened Cocoa Powder.I gave this product the almost-neutral rating of three stars because it is obviously a very high-quality product, if completely unpalatable for the use I intended.3Finally chocolate done right!Ok, you have to understand, most chocolate we Americans experience is from Hershey s. But that is not the only way to experience chocolate. Especially in its powdered form. This powdered chocolate, with its 20-22% cocoa butter, is incredible.We used this in our chocolate cookies - I don t want to oversell this by saying it s lifechanging, but I don t know what else to say. The powder is nearly red, it is so rich. When you add it to the ingredients, it adds a complexity and depth of flavor Hershey s can t even attempt.And the real reason you came here is you are thinking about making your own hot chocolate mix. Swiss Miss and it s ilk are full of powdered milk, knock off chocolate, and wax. You ve had it at home, at the concession stand, and you hate it! You find yourself asking, isn t this the drink of the Gods?! So you want a divine experience. Well friends, your prayers have been answered. This chocolate mix is so smooth - it has a fantastic mouth-feel! And it is deep in flavors, and so rich...hold on. I need to make myself another cup. .... Anyways, this is the stuff!And the can will make enough mix, when added to sugar (with a pinch of salt), to last the whole winter through.So use it how you will. It s a fantastic add to any pantry. PERFECT!Also used to cover homemade truffles5Creamiest, Richest Ghirardelli Cocoa Powder Ever!I have used and enjoyed Ghirardelli chocolates and regular and dark chocolate cocoa powders in my cooking and for a homemade hot cocoa mix for many years, so when I found this Majestic Premium Cocoa Powder I wanted to know more about it. Unfortunately, none of the listings for this product give you multiple picture angles or very much information, Nutritional Facts or the Ingredients, so to help others I am attaching a picture of the Back Panel and the Nutritional Panel. Since I love and trust Ghirardelli chocolates I decided I would try it anyway. Well, it was the best decision I made because it is the creamiest of any cocoa powder I have ever used, Ghirardelli or other brands. As a powder for dusting or with just water, it blends up very smooth and has a richness that you would think it must be extremely high-fat content or that butter has been added but apparently that is what makes this a Majestic Premium Cocoa Powder, and in my opinion is worth the price especially if you are wanting creamier, more decadent chocolate desserts including pies, flourless cakes, brownies, candies or simply hot cocoa!5Very proud of the Matilda cake I made for a bake sale.I love love the depth this Coco powder provides to your bake goods. I do a lot of baking and sometimes find it very hard to get the deep rich chocolate taste in the final product. I believe that the cake should be the focal point and the icing and any other decorations just that. I quickly learned learned through trial and error that a little goes a long way, I was use and accustomed to utilizing products that I had to practically use the whole package.. Since I've discovered this "Majestic" joy I haven't looked back and have created the most delicious brownies, mousse, cheesecakes and pies. Buy it and if you love chocolate this Coco Powder is for you. And I forgot to mention the wonderful measuring spoon that comes with it is much appreciated and also used often.5
