Hangs tough for crossfit but it doesn't tear when you want it to!Crossfit destroys my hands from time to time. This tape is a saving grace for pull ups and such when you have the time to use some scissors and cut the pieces properly. I've tried to tear it, even with my teeth, and have had no luck. If you're going for it then add a nice pair of medical shears to your cart too! 3Won't be buying again.I use this on my fingers for jiu jitsu training. The tape is difficult to tear and doesn't stay on as well as other brands I've used. 2Very poor quality tapeIt is super hard to tear with your fingers. If you try to tape tightly, it loosens up faster than other tapes I've used and requires re-taping frequently during the day. It also doesn't stick well enough - I taped my ankles and within the hour, I had a dangling strand of tape off both ankles. Forget about taping your hands to protect against tearing calluses - as soon as you move and sweat, they start to unstick.I asked my PT guy about Ace and he said they never use it. Everyone apparently uses Johnson & Johnson. I had some J&J tape, liked it a lot but ran out. Then I bought this on the Add-on program but it wasn't even worth the low price. I cannot recommend such poor quality tape that you cannot even tear with your fingers consistently (you can only tear it if you just get the edge just right which is not good enough for me - i want to be able to tear it EVERY time with my fingers).I would highly recommend Johnson & Johnson Coach Tape - it has little holes in it so you can easily tear it with your fingers and it sticks super well - never had dangling ends with J&J tape. Pay the price if it's not in the Add-on program. It's worth it. Not this Ace tape. 1ACE sports tapeWay too sticky; leaves residue. Hurt more trying to take it off then the protection it offered. 1Low Quality Sports TapeThis tape has a problematic adhesive. For example, if putting tape on fingers to avoid blisters, a little sweat will rob the adhesive of any bonding ability and the tape will actually slip off the finger. The glue also does not stick at the end of the wrap so the end of the tape is always sticking up even after having just been applied. When taping a larger area, once sweat comes in contact with the tape, not only does the tape end come loose, where the side of the tape rubs against the skin, the adhesive rubs off such that it requires a vigorous rub to remove the glue from the skin when unwrapping. Finally, sweat discolors the tape.Surprisingly poor product from 3M. They must be the OEM makers of the tape for CVS and Walgreens, which tapes also have similar problems. The Johnson & Johnson tape is much, much better. 1Great for wrapping anklesI play soccer and wrap my ankles often. This tape works well overall and I buy it constantly.The only two things keeping it from a 5 star are 1) Some rolls tend to catch more than others or have straggling string pieces - aka annoying! This happens to me about 1 roll out of every 10....... 2) The stickiness doesn't hold that well.If you do anything where you don't cover the tape it will slowly peel away or come apart at the ends. The end of where you completed your wrapping is what I'm referring to.Since I wrap my ankles I always cover it with shin guards and socks so it doesn't come loose on me but I can imagine if you're wrapping an exposed wrist as an example, it might be a problem if you're not covering it. 4Decent athletic tape, didn't help much with blistersThis seems like perfectly good athletic tape, but I primarily got it to help prevent blisters on my feet when I play basketball, and it really doesn't seem to help with that. On the other hand, a well-placed band-aid does help, and this tape does well at holding such a band-aid in place, so it's not a total loss. Also tends to leave an adhesive residue on my toenails, but that's certainly not unexpected with any strong tape. 3Does anyone know why?Somehow the tape is not as sticky as it should be. I used it for tapeing my foot to support the arch of my foot but the tape did not stretch much and did not stay in place for long. It just came off on the edges and the started peeling off 3Good Sports TapeI had been using Johnson & Johnson Coach sports tape for several months and noticed that the Ace tape was a fair amount cheaper for the same size roll. I decided to give Ace a try and I can say positively that this product is just as good as J&J, although it's harder to tear without the aid of a cutter (which I use anyway). Save some money and go with Ace. 4You get what you pay forCheap and not very sticky and not very strong, but you get what you pay for and it did the job for the first half of my workouts but end up just dying out. 3
